| STATUS & GOAL OF NSHM CSA (CENTRE FOR SOCIAL ACTION) - |

Prelude :
NSHM Knowledge Campus has enormous humanitarian and social responsibilities. Our aim is to asses the socioeconomic status of our neighboring areas by gathering information through, studying statistics, conducting proper survey of the identified area. Thereafter, decide a suitable project to be undertaken after considering our availability of infrastructure and available manpower resources in different Departments of our Campus Colleges. |

To spread Literacy by taking activities targeted at schools & school age children. |

To provide vocational training for the youth to make them employable or to create entrepreneurs. |

To address vision deficiencies of the under privileged section of the society. |

| Projects undertaken by CSA - |
| Construction of Infrastructure for Tribal School - |
Under this category a toilet complex is being constructed in a tribal residential school, named Raghunath Murmu Memorial School in Dangal village, Kanksa Block is affiliated by W.B Govt, and mainly run through an NGO named Bikalpa.
There was no Toilet for 140 number of students. NSHM Knowledge Campus has built a suitable Toilet complex for both girls and boys. |

| INFRASTUCTURE FACILTY AT ARRAH MSK, SCHOOL |
This school is situated adjacent to NSHM Knowledge campus, Durgapur, having a common boundary wall.
NSHM Knowledge Campus has taken the responsibility for providing the infrastructures facility to the school. In addition to this, arrangements of computers and out door sports field for the School will be upgraded in phases. |

| TO PROVIDE VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR THE YOUTH TO MAKE THEM EMPLOYABLE OR TO CREATE ENTREPRENEURS. |
| NSHM CSA has already completed two projects for 'Burdwan Development Authority', and another similar type of project for Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). |
| The Project- |
| The West Bengal Government has undertaken different developmental projects for industrial and development of infrastructure of the State. As a result, quite a large number of villagers have to sacrifice their land to accommodate these Projects. This created a socio-economic void around the population which had to be rehabilitated in a different place and in the process, losing their dwelling place and original source of livelihood. Realising the gravity of the problem and receiving request from the Rehabilitating Authority. |
NSHM CSA promptly accepted the challenge and decided to provide training to the 'land givers', with the help of NSHM School of Hotel Management. The training project was developed in such a manner that, the trainee, after taking this training, will be well equipped to run a small eatery for the public or for any Institution and develop himself/herself into a small entrepreneur. They can act individually or make a consortium to run the business.
The project was for fifteen days and for batches, comprising of fifteen trainees at a time. |

| Motivation and Awareness Development Camp on BLOOD DONATION is conducted repetedly at NSHM Knowledge Campus - |

Blood donation is a gift of love. Being a social welfare wing ,NSHM CSA ,Durgapur, has some moral responsibility to the society to fulfill.
NSHM Knowledge Campus Durgapur, have near about 1800 students. Those are the asset of our campus as well as our society. If we can aware those students about blood donation, they will be motivated for this beneficial activities. That is the ultimate goal of this programme. |

| NSHM Knowledge Campus organizes Blood Donation Awareness Camps in campus where Doctors and Experts explaine and educate the students about the constituents Blood, necessity of donation of Blood in our country, Importance of blood Donation ,Process of Blood Donation including the details of the pre- conditions to be a suitable Donor. The students are also encouraged to have an interesting 'question-answearing'sesson after the deliberation of the Honorable speakers. |
