Nand Kishore Chaudhary is regarded as the Gandhi of the carpet industry. He found his passion in weaving and decided to make a difference in the lives he touched. He soon discovered the plight of tribal weavers of rural India, suppressed by societal norms. With experience, guidance and love, he gave artisans a new identity as teachers, quality control experts and mobilizers. As a Sociopreneur Mr. N K Chaudhary has since built a country-wide network of 40,000 artisans in 10 states to become of India's largest manufacturer of hand knotted rugs and was given the "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 - Start-up Award" & "Udyog Ratna Award".
